Just another shoot...

It's nice to get out and about and there's no better place than outside in the fresh air. I remember when I was a kid I used to get my wellies and splash around the puddles, and since it rained all night last night I thought 'why not?'. So that is what my sister and I did, you are always a child at heart. Here are a few pics, and next entry is about the similar styled outfit and where you can buy it from.

Final Major project idea...

I need to start thinking of a idea for my foundation FMP, i had a few ideas in mind from the evolution of hair styles over the past century to the relationship and identity of between my sister and I. However this idea about gender identity/expression is one that im most curious about, i dont know alot about people who class themselves as male/female or just express them selves as male/female. This is something i will have to go out and explore, early days though, idea is not set in stone. Here is an photographer that has done a similar project before:

Emily Besa and Bernd Ott

Writer Emily Besa and photographer Bernd Ott have been traveling across five cities (Amsterdam, Berlin, London, Los Angeles and New York City) for their photography project ‘All The People’. This project involves meeting various individuals residing in these cities to discover how they define and convey their own gender identity. Besa explained “A lot of projects we found tend to focus on one aspect of being non-binary or non-conforming and we were particularly interested in relating the infinite possibilities of gender expression and identity. From the beginning we wanted to avoid any kind of labeling or categorization.”.The duo take a collaborative approach toward the project by letting interviewees choose the location in which they are photographed and how they portray themselves.

Here are some photos from their project:

Plain Black

I know that i said on my last post that my next entry will be the style of the photoshoot but i realised that i just edited it making it look distorted. If you forget then here is a quick reminder:

So yes, this was the start of my 'memory' project where i am trying to focus on the way memories can be changed by distorted. Hopefully it is going to be a good project but only time will tell, i need to do a lot more experimenting and research to get a clear idea of what I'm showing but i will always keep you guys up to date.

If my next entry is going to be about the style of this outfit then i should show you what the actual outfit is, so here are a couple of black and white edited photos of the shoot. Enjoy :)

New year, new memories to be made

Happy new year everyone, hopefully you all had a good break, I sure did. I did a initial fashion styled shoot for my next project at college, this project is about memories. When i thought of memories I instantly thought of distorted ones, so I used this shoot to experiment with a some of the best ones. Here are a couple of ones I've done already.
This is my lovely sister, isn't she pretty? So serious though. I have my next entry be about how I styled her, and every now and again I'll post updates of this project.

Sweater Weather

Sweaters are essential for the winter season, to stay hot when it's not. This outfit is made from neutrals colours. lets start of with the sweater from Zara. It looks so cosy and warm, just what you need for the freezing cold, but i'm sure you don't want to look underdressed with it being oversized. solution is to pair the sweater with from formal trousers. This patten is very subtle, so it doesn't draw so much attention nor it is distracting. Cosy up with a beige scraf and some brown ankle boots made more real leather. Now for a bit of bling, match the outfit with a brown strapped watch from river island. As always, links are down below :)

Ugly just got cute!

Now i don't know about you but for christmas i seem to always receive a seasonal jumper. This year my grandparents brought me a minion christmas jumper. I have only worn it once and probably never again until next year. So if your in a similar situation to me and have receive a jumper that didn't quite reach your style standards, then turn that frown upside down because ugly just got cute. So lets say you go this Christmas jumper dress, i would pair it up with other items of clothing that match together, that way you could still blend in if you wanted or you can really stand out with the red or whatever colour jumper you have. As its a dress, i thought cute knee high socks to keep the legs warm while in the knee high leather boots from TopShop. Since your in Topshop, why not pick up this Slim pocket coat too. Im not really a hat type of girl, therefore i would normally go for ear muffs, and these grey fluffy ones are perfect accessory from Accessorize. Every one needs a bag when they're out and about, so if you have a few pennies to spare (or well pounds) then treat yourself to a bag from Burberry, its goes so well with the leather boots.

Nearly Christmas!!

I don't get into the Christmas spirit until I watch my favorite ballet... *drum rolls*... THE NUTCRACKER!! so I just watched the brilliant version of the nutcracker by Matthew Bourne and it gets me so hyped. The music, the dancing, the costumes brings me so much excitement. *I thought this was meant to be a fashion blog?!* well, it is, lets forget about Clara, the nutcracker and all them lot, lets focus on the marshmallow ladies. Now if you still don't know what they look like, have a quick glimpses at the top... Aren't they malicious? All that PINK, THE FLUFF, POM POMS HERE, POM POMS THERE, CRAZINESS EVERYWHERE! Now i'm not sure about you but i would never pick up the confidence to try and pull those outfits off on a night out, so lets tone it down and have a more appropriate approach. I've chosen a white funnel neck bodysuit from topshop for the simple base of the outfit. Accompanying the bodysuit is this wonderful taupe tulle mesh midi skirt. I just love these types of skirts, it just reminds me of my young ballet days. This is quite natural, not too pink and not too bright. Now what shoes, you can't wear boots because that's too heavy, you cant wear lace up sandals because that would be too restricting. Don't worry i have a solution. I saw my friend wear these very unique shoes from prettylittlething, and to be honest, they are just prefect for this out fit (Has to be pink of course). The pink fluff gives the sense of the feathery skirt of the costume and i've incorporated the pom poms on the dress with this white pom pom hair tie, you can have one or many, depending on your personal hair style. Speaking about fluff, you don't want to be cold on these winter days, wrap yourself up with this light pink faux fur coat, it even has a hood. Finally, an outfit is never complete without a bit of bling, so I've chosen a simple and long necklace. If you like any of these items, check out the link below. Enjoy your upcoming days to christmas.
